Competition with quality seal to explore wine countries with millennium old culture: Registration start for the 2nd PAR® Wine Award International

PAR® dégustation – 16th and 17th of November; Application deadline – 6th of November 2017

Frasdorf, Áugust 2017 – Autumn 2016, WINE System AG gave birth to the first PAR® Wine Award International which met with positive response and surprised us with many oenological and sensory discoveries. In addition to it, this event became a new platform for the tradition-rich wine nations like Slovenia, Hungary, Georgia, as well as more southerly countries like Lebanon and Israel. In 2017, this competition enters the 2nd round, whereby the list of participants has been extended to 23 invited countries compassing the newcomers Azerbaijan and Armenia. The primary objective of this award is to contribute to the protection of traditional methods which are commonly applied and treasured in these countries. Furthermore, this competition helps to establish new trade channels and to promote the products on the settled wine markets.
The competition is announced by WINE System AG, well known as a promoter of prestigious tastings, for instance, international organic wine award, extensively conversant with transnational wine competitions. Tasting under the guidance of Martin Darting will take place on the 16th and 17th of November 2017.

PAR® Wine Award International 2017 invites following countries to join the competition: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Lebanon and Israel.

PAR® tasting method: Thanks to the transparency of the internationally recognized sensory testing system PAR, each submitted wine receives a comprehensible and objective documentation of its sensory and oenological characteristics, which are always assessed with regard to respective authenticity and style.
The PAR training enables the qualified jury consisting of oenologists, sommeliers and wine experts (certified by the German IHK) to assess each wine neutrally, excluding personal preferences or preconceived opinions regarding “good taste”.
In the context of modern oenology, new international wine styles experience appreciation and acceptance also in PAR assessment.
Besides attracting attention brought by this award, many producers appreciate the revealing analyses underlying the PAR assessment. They accurately show which criteria have led to respective results and provide valuable documentation for the quality management. This system ensures an objective assessment with 100-point-pattern based on comprehensible documentation.
